Anyone starting a web business should use a free website.  But, be prepared to abandon the free website when -- and if -- you convince yourself that you can make money on the web.  Free websites have problems.  Some go out of business.  Some get you hooked on using them and then tell you that you need to pay.  Others simply obscure your page with their own advertisements.  Others really do not offer free web sites, but simply a free page or two to advertise their goods.  Still, despite these problems, to start off, you can and should use these free sites, get experience with them and see if the work involved in creating web pages is something you are willing to do.  Here are some people who claimed they were offering free web sites on August 31, 2002.
