Dick's Guide to Third parties and Democrats and Republicans

Vote - but not for Democrats or the GOP. We should support the system of citizen's voting by voting. This does not mean we need to validate America's two party duopoly. Neither party has a monopoly of lying or working for the benefit of their special interest support groups.  Most people know this and that's why most people do not show up to vote.  Many Americans believe that going to vote becomes  a question of choosing the lying, dishonest politician they know in column A, or the less known politician in column B who will turn out to be as bad as everyone else in his or her party.  But, there is another choice. The major reforms that have occurred in American history have been brought about by third parties, not the two parties with a monopoly of power. This does not mean the third party had to win an election to get reform.  Find a third party candidate or party that most closely matches your views of the changes needed in government.  Vote for that party and candidate. Don't opt out of our Constitutional voting privileges. Do opt out of supporting the Republican and Democrat duopoly. When enough voters start voting for a third party (as they did with Ross Perot's party) the major parties get the message and change their tunes. It was not until AFTER Perot that the politicians of the Republican and Democrat party realized that they had to be against continuous over spending. For decades they had both generally kept quiet about spending far more each year than their tax income would allow.  Perot drew up a few charts.  He explained it could not go on forever. While the two parties berated him, enough voters saw the truth.  It only takes about 5% of a total vote to swing an election.  When a third party gets this amount, at least one of the major parties will adopt the third party's platform.

Competition makes America a better place to live.  Lets make sure we vote and lets make sure we support the third party competition.  If you can't find a third party you like, then just vote for None-of-the-above.
