Dick's Guide to Senator Barbara Boxer's strange behavior when President Bush announced Harriet Miers as his nominee to the Supreme Court.

Democratic Party Self Destruction: Barbara Boxer attacks Harriet Miers (Not, Meirs or Meyers) then, when Harriet Miers withdraws, Boxer claims she had no problem with Ms. Miers.  Only Democratic Party politicians, insisting on self-destruction would be so duplicitous.

Barbara Boxer, the somewhat strange leftist senator from California, knows that many Supreme Court Justices have not had judicial experience. Barbara Boxer knows that democratic presidents have nominated Supreme Court Justices who were, like Harriet Miers, lawyers but not judges. Yet, she thinks voters are so stupid that she can pretend that Ms. Miers' lack of judicial experience is an important factor.  As soon as Harriet Miers was announced as a candidate for the Supreme Court, Barbara Boxer said, "The president has selected a loyal political ally without a judicial record to sit on the highest court in the land." On television Boxer went further and said "“Here’s what I know about Harriet Miers,” Boxer said. “I know that she’s a crony of the president. I know she thinks he’s the most brilliant man she’s ever met. I know that she was head of the search committee and wound up being the nominee, and I know that she is personally anti-choice. Those are things I know.”" When Harriet Miers was deciding to withdraw as a Supreme Court nominee, opening up an opportunity for Samuel Alito, Boxer, on TV, reversed herself and claimed she had no problems with Harriet Miers.  Apparently Barbara Boxer was against any nominee made by president Bush, and would use hypocrisy to defend her consistent partisanship.  She showed herself to be one of the highly partisan politicians in the Democratic Party..  See The End of the two party system in America for other examples of how independent voters are continually put off by democrat dishonesty and left wing opinions.

The democrats are self-destructing.  Their insistence on spreading hate, making false remarks and attacking other's proposals without making many of their own, makes them less than acceptable to most thinking voters.  Their mindless attacks on President George Bush's nominee for the Supreme Court, Harriet Miers, cause them to lose favor with the independent voters, the voters who sway elections.  Intelligent voters, with all of the information sources now available, simply do not believe what they read in typical press reports or hear from typical democrat politicians.  Also see

Thinking independent voters (not yellow dog democrats or died-in-the wool republicans) already knew, by 2000, that both parties are for sale to the highest bidder, both parties have politicians who will lie and do anything to get elected, and both parties politicians use American taxpayer money to reward the special interest groups that support them.  Republicans can be happy that Independent voters have not yet reached the point where they will reject both parties.  They believe voting for a third party "wastes" their votes.  Independent voters -- who control the outcome of elections -- tend to vote for the least worst candidate from the two major parties.  When one party is clearly seen as spreading hate and lies, writing fake indictments and dividing America, the independent voter has no option but to vote for the other party.
