Nanotechnology refers to the ability to put together nature's basic
building blocks, atoms and
molecules, into finished products. All products are made from atoms and
molecules. The properties
of products is dependent upon how the atoms and molecules are arranged.
By arranging a products
basic building blocks in the molecular environment, we can create more precise
and better products.
Nanotechnology describes many types of research where the basic product is
assembled from pieces
with dimensions less than about 1,000 nanometers.
