Dick's Guide to Psychology. William Wundt and the first psychology lab and experiment.
The first psychology lab was started by William Wundt at the University of Leipzig, about 1879. He dropped a ball and had subjects press a switch when they heard the sound of the ball. He measured the subjects response time -- from hearing the sound to reaction. He was seeking to measure the "atoms of the mind."
